GARDEN FLOWERS : Azalea



Azalea

  This is a bushy, evergreen shrub that
 has bell-shaped flowers in clusters.
 It has a long style and stamens
 with oval, pointed leaves. It
usually has a strong scent.


Periwinkle

This is a creeping plant-the trailing systems
 put down roots where they touch the soil, 
and then grow flowering shoots.
Periwinkles like shade. 


Snapdragon

 The tube-shaped flowers of the 
snapdragon grow in spikes. Look 
for this plant in garden borders. 


Rose

This rose has sweet-smelling flowers 
with cone-shaped buds. The stems
 have prickly thorns, and the leaves 
are glossy. Orange fruits, called
 hipsgrow in the autumn. 


Coneflower

 This plant gets its name from the 
raised green cone shapes which rise
 up from the middle of the flowers.
 The petals pointed down.
