Protection

There is a crisp, chitin skin covering.
There are jointed appendages.


Support

The skeleton is an exoskeleton
(outside skeleton) of chitin that
serves as a supportive frame.


Circulation

Circulation occurs by blood leaving the 
heart, passing through the arteries,
then emptying into cavities which
permeate the internal organs.




Reproduction

 Reproduction occurs between separate 
sexes, and fertilization is external. Young 
embryos attach to the female abdomen.
