MONTESSORI BIOLOGY : Phylum Rhizopoda

KINGDOM PROTOCTISTA

Phylum Rhizopoda

  Rhizopoda are single-cell oranganisms.
Rhizopoda are all  amoebas.Rhizapoda
have ever-changing body shapes as
the cytoplasm of the cell moves or shifts.
The shifting of the cytoplasm forms
extensions which help the
rhizopoda in movement.

These extensions are called pseudopods
meaning  "false feet"Rhizopoda
reproduce by division of the cell into
two equal cells of the same size.

Rhiza: root (Greek)
 Pous:  foot (Greek)
