MONTESSORI BIOLOGY : Phylum Myxobacteria

KINGDOM PROKARYOTAE

Phylum Myxobacteria

 Myxobacteria are single-cell but they
come together and exhibit group behavior.
The group behavior has a distinct form.
Myxobacteria live in a slime or
goo that the cells produce.

During periods when there is not
much moisture or food available, the
myxobacteria group together.
Myxobacteria sometimes grow stalk-like
structures. these stalks become
reproductive structures which
 produce myxospores.

Myxa: mucus (Greek)
