 Wetlands

 Land that is often covered in water and
supports plant growth above the water
is considered a wetland area. Rainfall is
abundant in these areas. Wetlands are
 constantly changing as sediment builds up. 


  Swamps and bayous are two freshwater
wetlands. Marshes and mangrove swamps are
saltwater wetlands. There is a mangrove swamp
belt circling the globe. The largest wetland in the
world is the Pantanal in BrazilWetlands are
important biome areas that help purify water.
