MONTESSORI HISTORY : Story of Greek or Roman Food

Greek or Roman Food

Most people in Greek or Roman times
were farmers, although that land was
generally poor and there was very little
of it that could be cultivated. Animals such
as sheep were raised for food. Other common
foods were olive oil, fish, goat cheese, wine and
bread. The need to search for more land to
increase food production caused wars between
city states. Rice and potatoes were not known in
those days, so people ate a lot of bread instead.
