Medieval Medicine
Very little progress was made in the field
of medicine during Medieval times. Only
the monks were able to preserve some of the
knowledge of the ancient Greek and Roman
doctors, while all over Europe destruction by
barbaric invasions and superstition caused great
suffering and misery. Magic was often confused
with medicine. Many people believed that
disease came as a punishment from God.
