The Climatic Zones
The Temperate Zones
Trees in the north and south temperate
zones lose their leaves in autumn. In the
colder parts, i.e., up in the mountains, there
are trees which are green throughout the
year. There is a great variety of plants in
these zones. But many of these plants have
been brought into these zones by man.

colder parts, i.e., up in the mountains, there
are trees which are green throughout the

these zones. But many of these plants have
been brought into these zones by man.
Therefore, the natural vegetation of these zones
has been modified by man. Many of the animals
which lived in these zones have almost been
destroyed, e.g., wolves, which exist almost
exclusively in wildlife preserves. Other animals
have been domesticated by man, e.g., cows,
sheep. Their numbers have increased
because man takes care of them.
