The Arctic Ocean
The Arctic Ocean, is located in the
Northern Hemisphere and mainly in the
Arctic polar region. This ocean is the
smallest and shallowest of the world's
oceans. It is surrounded by Europe,
Asia, and North America.
Because of the low temperatures,
it is covered by sea ice most of the time.
For many years, explorers looked at this
ocean trying to find a trading route that
would allow them to travel from one
hemisphere to the other quickly.
