earth's surface from the pores and
crevices of the earth's mantle rock.

Crater Lake
A crater lake is a sheet of water
collected in the crater of an
extinct volcano.

Oxbow Lake
An oxbow lake is a lake created from
a meandering river which becomes
separated when the silt that is
deposited at the backwater,
cuts it off from the rest of the river.
These lakes are often known as bayous.
